As President of L&S Advisors, Bennett Gross is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the firm as well as guiding its growth into new opportunities. He also serves on the firm’s Investment Committee, helping to establish investment guidelines for the firm’s growing list of clients. In everything he does, Bennett follows one rule above all else: “Always do the very best you can for your clients, and always put their needs first.”
Bennett has more than thirty years of experience in the investment management business. Prior to joining L&S, he served as Investment Strategist for EP Wealth Advisors. Before that, he was the Director of Wealth Management and the Director of Equities for a multibillion-dollar registered investment advisor (RIA) based in Santa Monica. Bennett was also the Chair of the Investment Committee and the Managing Director of Equities for a billion-dollar advisory firm based in Century City. He began his career in financial services at Morgan Stanley working with ultra-high-net-worth investors.
Bennett earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California at Irvine, and a M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma honors society. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
On the personal side
Bennett is an ardent believer in the power of education, which is why he supports charities such as The Fulfillment Fund, where he recently served as a mentor, and One Laptop per Child (it’s less expensive than you might think!). It’s a passion he inherited from his father, who moved the family to California to take advantage of its high-quality higher education system. His dad always said Bennett and his siblings could go to any college they wanted, as long as it was a UC school.
Bennett is also a long-time supporter of One Voice LA, especially their holiday program providing baskets of food and toys to needy families throughout Los Angeles.
He lives in Cheviot Hills with his wife. Their grown son is an aspiring musician living in North Hollywood. In his free time, Bennett enjoys music, live theater, and watching Jeopardy. His favorite category is “Business and Industry”: “I’ll take stock symbols for $1,000, Alex.”
Something you may not know about Bennett
He and his wife met in college at a Halloween party. At the time, he was dating her best friend and she was dating his roommate. But that didn’t stop Bennett. They bonded over their costumes (he was dressed as Groucho Marx, she was dressed as Mouseketeer Annette Funicello) and have been together ever since.Back to Our Team
