Jason Jay Scott, Esq.

Chief Compliance Officer

Jason Jay Scott is a seasoned financial and legal services executive, with over twenty years of experience in operational management and systems in highly regulated industries. As CCO of L&S Advisors, Jason is responsible for the designing, implementing, and monitoring of the processes and systems at L&S to ensure L&S complies with all applicable laws and regulations.  In addition, in his role as General Counsel, Jason anticipates and identifies legal issues for the firm and advises senior management in developing legal strategies on a variety of corporate matters.  Jason also takes a leading role in shaping the marketing and business development for the firm.

Prior to joining L&S Advisors, Jason served as Vice President of Business Applications at Kurtzman Carson Consultants (KCC). Over the course of nine years, he was instrumental in growing KCC from a small boutique start-up into one of the foremost legal and financial services firms in the corporate restructuring industry. Before that, Jason worked as a corporate transactional and litigation attorney.

Jason holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from Loyola Marymount University. He is admitted to practice law in California and holds a Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law securities license.

On the personal side

Jason lives in Rancho Park with his wife and two young twin boys. He would like a pet dog, however, he and his wife can only deal with poop from one species at a time.

Jason is an avid snow skier, traveler, and hockey and tennis fan. Until recently, he spent a lot of time on the slopes during the winter and traveling the globe in other seasons. But now that he has two toddlers on his hands, free time is mostly a thing of the past. He still catches an occasional hockey game and tennis match, but mostly he spends his non-work hours either entertaining his boys or recovering from said entertaining.

Jason is also passionate about community outreach. He is the co-chair for the Scott Fierstein Memorial Fund, set up in memory of his late brother with the goal of bettering children’s lives.

Something you may not know about Jason

There is a movie called My Name Is… about a traveling industrial glue salesman named Jason Scott who loses everything and reaches out to the only other people in the world he feels connected to: other people named Jason Scott. He then vows to unite all the Jason Scotts of the world into one big club. Jason is still upset that he was not consulted on the movie.
