Heather Liu joined L&S Advisors in 2005 upon its relaunch as an independent, fee-only registered investment advisor (RIA). In her role as a senior portfolio analyst, she works closely with the Chief Investment Officer conducting in-depth security research and analysis. In addition to monitoring economic data and applying macroeconomic research in an effort to anticipate upcoming trends, Heather is involved in ongoing investment strategy development. She also assists the L&S team with operational and administrative support.
Heather began her career at UBS Financial Services as a Branch Office Administrator and Client Service Associate, where she spent two years offering top-quality support to financial advisors and the management team.
Heather holds a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is also a Series 65 Licensee.
On the personal side
Heather is originally from Taiwan, where she comes from a family with a strong military tradition. At a young age, she moved with her family to the U.S. following her father’s retirement from his position as a commanding officer in the Taiwanese Marines. Her father instilled in her the same values and leadership qualities that were vital to his military success, including discipline, ethics, and personal responsibility. Throughout her life, she has drawn from that well of strength to move forward on her own path.
Not only did her experience as a Taiwanese transplant teach her to how to adjust and adapt to changing environments, but it also honed her uniquely global and multicultural perspective. Additionally, her root knowledge of Chinese culture and its languages gives her a deeper understanding of Asia’s fastest growing economy and its role in today’s international marketplace.
Heather is passionate about improving the lives of other people in whatever capacity she can. She has been a participant at Saddleback Church and has sponsored a child in need through World Vision. One of her favorite quotes comes from Arthur Ashe: “From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.”
Something you may not know about Heather
Heather loves discovering and exploring new places. The more exotic and adventurous, the better. Her most memorable trip was to South Africa, where she was surrounded by fourteen lionesses and an actual lion king (not the cute musical kind!) during a night safari excursion.
